Kabam Collaborates with Kongregate and GameStop on Unique In-Store Promotion for Realm of the Mad God

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Kabam, the leader in developing and publishing core free-to-play (F2P) games has collaborated with Kongregate, the leading free-to-play online games platform, and GameStop, the world’s largest multichannel video game retailer, to promote Kabam’s popular Realm of the Mad God in stores and online.

Starting October 8, GameStop customers who visit any one of its more than 4,400 U.S stores can pick up a Realm of the Mad God player card containing a unique code that will unlock exclusive game content on Kongregate.com and 250 GameStop® PowerUp Rewards™ points that can be redeemed for items from the Rewards Catalog on PowerUpRewards.com. Each cardholder will also have the chance to win a $10,000 GameStop gift card, courtesy of Kabam. In addition, GameStop will promote Realm of the Mad God online and in stores, and Kongregate will further promote the game to its 16 million unique monthly users.

Kabam is releasing exclusive new content available for a limited time to all players who access Realm of the Mad God through Kongregate.com. This exclusive content will include a new Ninja Class, Kongregate branded pets, and a new Treasure Dungeon. The new class is one of 13 in the game, and the Kongregate pets will help players navigate through the “Bullet Hell” in the Mad God’s world.

“The best partnerships drive significant value to each party. In this case, Kongregate and GameStop wanted to partner with us because of the value Realm offers to their customers—an award-winning game that will feature exclusive content to Kongregate and GameStop customers for a limited time,” said Kabam Chief Operating Officer Chris Carvalho. “And for Kabam, this partnership allows us the potential to reach millions of traditional core gamers.”

“Showcasing a critically-acclaimed title on Kongregate like Realm of the Mad God to GameStop customers is a fantastic way to introduce core gamers to quality free-to-play online titles,” said Jim Greer, CEO of Kongregate. “This promotion is another extension of the benefits GameStop customers can receive for playing games on Kongregate. Partnering with Kabam is a natural fit as an industry leader in player engagement. The new content they are providing exclusively to Kongregate is a real treat for new players or existing fans of Realm of the Mad God.”

Award-winning Realm of the Mad God has been heralded as a cult classic and is Kabam’s first massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG)—a strategic move on behalf of the company to deliver top quality multiplayer, multiplatform games across genres. Realm is a true cooperative MMORPG where players must help one another to survive in this “Bullet Hell” thriller and defeat the Mad God bent on ruling the world.

For details of the promotion and to play Realm of the Mad God with access to the new Ninja Class and Treasure Dungeon exclusive to Kongregate, players can visit www.kongregate/MadGod.
