Homes of Celebrity Couples
It often seems that celebrities operate on a faster timeline than the rest of us. A lot can change in a year with them, especially regarding real estate — just look at the lineup of duos from the original Homes of Celebrity Couples, published in January 2011.
Beyonce and Jay-Z had a baby around the same time Heidi Klum and Seal announced their impending divorce. Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem finally sold their house at a price reduction ($2.88 million, from $3.695 million), and Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher’s midcentury rental is now off the market. Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie still haven’t unloaded their house, but they are about to unleash a baby into the world at any moment.
One couple from last year’s slideshowchanged coasts and totally changed housing style. Some of the following homes are recently sold, some are for sale, one is being rented and one is offered for rent. Most of them were provided by Realtor.com.

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux
Location: Los Angeles
Price: $21 million
Bedrooms: 4
Bathrooms: 6
Square Footage: 8,500
Jennifer Aniston recently continued the “Friends” alum real estate shuffle by buying a mid-century modern house in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles. The actress bought the house at a reduced price, as it originally listed for $24.9 million, according to Realtor.com. Apparently this home was her idea of simplifying, since that’s the reason she sold her last home for $38 million.
The new digs is situated on just under two acres, has glass walls to ocean and city views and includes a vineyard, koi pond and guest house. No information is available about Aniston’s actor boyfriend Justin Theroux’s level of involvement in the sale, but numerous reports say they are living together.
Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom
Location: Dallas
Price: $7,500/ month
Bedrooms: 2
Bathrooms: 2
Square Footage: N/A
The socialite from the inescapable Kardashian clan and the NBA player for the Dallas Mavericks recently settled into the W Dallas Victory Hotel and Residences. As the Realtor blog points out, Odom might not stay with the team for the long term, hence the rental.
The spacious condo features slate flooring, Miele appliances in the kitchen, mother-of-pearl tiles in the bath and a pool table. Being part of the W hotel, residents have access to its fitness centers, Bliss spa, infinity pool and a “Whatever Whenever” concierge service.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
Location: Bel Air, Calif.
Price: $5,995,000
Bedrooms: 5
Bathrooms: 5
Square Footage: 4,044
This modern house, which was rented by silver-screen pair and real-life couple Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart for several months last year, went on the market around the premiere of “Twilight: Breaking Dawn.”
With its Southern California location, its fabulous views of Canyon Reservoir, its abundance of natural light and its pool and patio, it’s easier to picture shirtless teen werewolves living here than sparkling vampires. Whatever their reasons or plans, the famously private couple continue to remain mum.
Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo
Location: Encino, Calif.
Price: $2.85 million
Bedrooms: 6
Bathrooms: 8
Square Footage: 8,000
He’s a singer (formerly of the boy-band 98 Degrees), she’s a presenter (“Entertainment Tonight” and “Total Request Live”) and together they are professional beautiful people. Last year, they purchased this Spanish hacienda-style Encino home, which features vaulted beam ceilings and lots of terraces and outdoor space. The house has a few newlywed-appropriate features, such as a romantic vines-covered patio area and a fireplace in the master bedroom.
Warren Beatty and Annette Bening
Location: Beverly Hills, Calif.
Price: $25,000/month
Bedrooms: 6
Bathrooms: 8
Square Footage: 10,00+
That stud of 1970s “Shampoo” fame and his lady love of “American Beauty” fame are offering their spacious, private-gated home for rent at 25 Gs per month.
The house has parquet floors, and a dramatic main staircase with curly wrought-iron railings. Bringing the outdoors in, there’s a solarium, and many doors opening to balconies or the yard. The large yard is landscaped with many mature live oak trees and has an infinity zero-edge pool.
Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber
Location: New York
Price: $3.95 million
Bedrooms: 3
Bathrooms: 2
Square Footage: 4,315
Master thespians Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts appeared in last year’s celebrity couples home slideshow, but their new residence is a continent away. Last year they were featured in a lovely traditional Los Angeles home from 1938 covered in leafy vines.
The latest buy from this talented duo is a co-op full-floor loft in New York’s Tribeca, with 14-foot ceilings and great industrial multipaned windows for natural light galore. It was originally listed for $4.5 million but they bought it in January for $3.95 million.
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott
Location: Malibu, Calif.
Price: $2.4 million
Bedrooms: 4
Bathrooms: 4
Square Footage: 2,052
Last year was a big one for real estate for “Beverly Hills, 90210” star Tori Spelling, not just because she and husband Dean McDermott sold their home in Encino for $2.5 million. Also in 2011, the 56,500 square-foot megamansion Spelling Manor was sold by her mother, Candy Spelling, for $85 million (a bargain considering the original asking price of $150 million).
The mind boggles that someone who grew up in mansions as the wealthy daughter of a TV producer titan would choose to scale down to a house this size, and with three children, no less. If nothing else, living in these closer quarters should ensure some fresh drama for Tori's and Dean’s reality series.
Gabrielle Reece and Laird Hamilton
Location: Haiku, Hawaii
Price: $2.79 million
Bedrooms: 4
Bathrooms: 4
Square Footage: 6,400
There are other athletes in this slideshow, but this Hawaiian property is the most sporting of the collection. Volleyball star and model Gabrielle Reece and her pro surfer husband Laird Hamilton recently offered for sale their Hawaiian getaway on nearly 10 acres. (It is now off the market.) The entire first floor is a gym. Hamilton chose this home as a training base for its proximity to Jaws, a famous surf break.
As for the more relaxing times when they’re not exercising or training, there’s a 1,000-square-foot canopied wrap-around lanai to make use of outdoor space despite trade-wind showers, as well as a million-gallon fish pond and a natural swimming pool with waterslide that’s supplemented by waterfalls.
Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany
Location: New York
Price: $8.495 million
Bedrooms: 3
Bathrooms: 4
Square Footage: 4,000
Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany (both known for roles in “A Beautiful Mind”) were formerly the leading acting duo of Park Slope, Brooklyn, though when they defected to Tribeca a few years back that title went to Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard. Now, the pair might be moving to another ‘hood again: They’ve just listed their Tribeca penthouse.
It is situated atop a building built in 1890 and converted to 14 co-ops in 1984, with original features like exposed brick walls and wooden box beams. Other highlights include a Hudson River view and a chef’s kitchen with Viking appliances and a subway-tiled white backsplash. The sizable roof terrace covers about 1,380 square feet, and there’s a glass-enclosed sunroom accessible from the library/media room.
Brooke Burke and David Charvet
Location: Malibu, Calif.
Price: $12.5 million
Bedrooms: 5
Bathrooms: 6
Square Footage: 6,769
She is the 2008 winner of “Dancing With the Stars” and he is a 1990s hunk from “Melrose Place” and “Baywatch,” and together they are another couple of professional beautiful people. They recently listed their house for sale, but it is now off the market.
The house, on a nearly one-acre plot in the Serra Retreat community, is called Chateau Charvet, a nod to Charvet’s birthplace in the south of France. It has imported French fireplaces, antiqued plastered walls, carved limestone and walnut flooring, “a woman’s offseason closet,” a 4,000-bottle wine cellar, a rose garden and orchard and a stone cabana with outdoor fireplace.
