A graduate of École Polytechnique, he joined the French Ministry of Finance in 2000, holding a variety of management positions in the Budget department over several years. In 2010, he was named General Audit Director at Groupama. In 2013, he joined the Casino Group as head of Group Controlling Officer, later becoming Deputy Chief Financial Officer.
