Melanie Kreis holds a Master's degree in physics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, a diploma in physics from the University of Bonn in Germany and a MBA from INSEAD in France.
She began her career n 1997 as a consultant for McKinsey & Company and in 2000 she moved to the private equity firm Apax Partners. Kreis joined Deutsche Post DHL Group in 2004.
After holding various positions, including executive vice president corporate office, corporate organization, executive vice president, corporate controlling, and CFO of DHL Express. Kreis joined the board of management of Deutsche Post DHL Group as board member for human resources and labor director in November 2014.
In October 2016, Melanie Kreis became chief financial officer of Deutsche Post DHL Group. Since September 2017, she has focused exclusively on her role as chief financial officer.
