Mr. R. Shankar Raman, joined L&T Group in November 1994 to set up L&T Finance Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary. As its first CEO, Mr. Shankar Raman successfully built the financial services business from its inception assembling a team of professionals and building its revenue base.

Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) is a technology, engineering, construction and manufacturing company. It is India's largest engineering and construction company by sales.

Mr. Raman was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Larsen & Toubro Limited on September 6, 2011, and subsequently elevated to the Board on October 1, 2011. He presently oversees the finance functions across the L&T Group. Mr. Shankar Raman is also on the Board of Management of several companies within the L&T Group.

In the year 2012, Mr. Shankar Raman won the "Best CFO Award" amongst the Asian Infrastructure companies in a poll conducted by Institutional Investor Magazine for the sell side analysts.
