Less than a week after he was sworn in as America's highest-ranking military officer, General C.Q. Brown faced a shift in the geopolitical calculus. A war in Israel and Gaza resulted in the United States pulling assets back from the Pacific, and a balancing of the needs of Ukraine with those of Israel.
